Web Portfolio

This is my portfolio of Websites that I designed and coded. When it all began, about two years ago (two years as of October 2005), I didn't have much art skills. So most people that wanted help would design a website themselves, then ask me to write up the HTML. If I included every site that I helped build, there would be about 30-35 websites. Just recently I've been making the actual designs and coding them myself. It's in order of date, click on the thumbnails to enlarge the pictures. To see the working sites, just click "Demo" (that is, if there is a demo).

About:
I never really did like the design of the old Metroid Online Map Team website that I made. So recently I started working on a new design. This code is much cleaner, and the designs looks alot better I think. It's just a big improvement from the last.

About:
Well, if you didn't notice it, this is a revamped version of the one below. I was recently looking at my Dad's site, checking the code, and seeing how sloppy it was. So I started from scratch, redesigned the page in Photoshop, sliced it up (many many times to get the sizes right), then started coding it. I made it wider, as you may be able to see. This used up some of the empty space on the other version, and allowed for more space where the text would go. This time I used divs instead of tables (except for the quote forms, you'll see some tables, but for the correct purposes). It's much cleaner and much more professional looking. Once I got the basic HTML done, I stripped it of the banner and navigation, and stuck it in a header. Now, whenver I need to fix a link, instead of editing twenty pages, I edit one. And, because the header includes the javascript for the navagation, the files are much smaller. So instead of having twenty pages that are 20 kilobytes, I have twenty pages that are 3 kilobytes and one page that is 15 kilobytes. Although a kilobyte isn't that big, it makes all the difference in a webpage. Now that I got everything transfered, I'm going to make some edits as requested by the evaluation team, and then it's going public.

About:
This is actually the first website I designed for commercial purposes. I designed it for my Dad, starting around August 2005. This has been one of my longest projects, for one because I'm doing it during the school year, and two it's huge and has some cool features. For example, there are forms you can fill out on the website to request insurance and such (none of which you're probably interested, viewing this page).

About:
Another Halo related site. Several different clans from Halo CE joined up and decided to have this big tournament. This happened over the summer around July-September 2005. It was pretty successful and fun.

About:
Yet another Halo related website. This was built around July 2005 for the Metroid Online Map Team. Halo CE, a version of Halo designed for fans to create their own maps. This team of guys was working on converting several levels to Metroid levels. It was pretty huge when it started. We had about 12,000 unique hits (meaning it didn't count a new hit everytime the same person visited the page, but rather it counted them everytime someone new visited). So it was pretty amazing, and fun to be a part of.

About: This is where it all began. Well a little bit earlier. This was a website, orginally started off as two. Both websites started at Freewebs.com. I had a website with Halo PC screenshots and tricks. Pete had a Halo PC modding website with modding tips, screenshots, etc. Being brothers, we combined our websites and bought the domain www.modhalo.com (no longer active). The first site was a Dreamweaver template, which looked pretty horrid. We then moved to this one, which was made in frames. Pete did most of the designing, I wrote up most of the HTML. We sky rocketed from here. At our height, out forums had about 350 members (which is pretty good, considering many non-commericial forums have around 50 [some of alot more]). It was a blast being an administrator and learning so much stuff. It lasted from March 2004 to July 2005, and we had some good times.
